I'm thinking of starting an e-bay store. Lately I've been finding some fantastic deals on antiques & collectibles. This three bears biscuit jar was a recent find, for $9.99. They normally sell for about $79.99. Pretty good buy, I must say! I love the thrill of the chase.....perusing resale & antique shops, not to mention yard sales, looking for special, vintage items. Now I need to set up shop & sell them.

Enjoy a Meat-free Thanksgiving!

I picked up a Celebration Roast at Whole Foods last weekend & popped it in the freezer. It is a faux meat roast that's gotten rave reviews. What a great way to elimate turkey from your Thanksgiving meal.
The health benefits alone are an important reason to become a vegetarian. But the ethical reasons are important, as well. Please think about it.
P.S. I'll let you know the reviews on the Celebration Roast later this month......

I'm Back!

Wow, I can't believe it's been 9 months since I've written. One could suppose that means I've been very busy. But I think it means that I've just gotten out of the habit.
I am still daydreaming about writing a cookbook. A vegetarian comfort food cookbook. Delicious, easy recipes with down home illustrations. I've begun to put together a list of recipes, and have read a book on how to go about writing & publishing such a book. Next I need to put together a plan, along with a timetable.
On the weekends I have been trying lots of new recipes. I love to cook. And I love to adapt "regular" recipes to vegetarian cooking.
It's time to get some work done - I promise I will be back soon.

Simple Inspiration

I've realized how important it is to surround ourselves with things we love. I tend to do this on the weekends and it makes me feel very grounded. It can be things as simple as a new Susan Branch cookbook (from our great new used bookstore in Clayton), or a new cinnamon candle.
I always seem to feel inspired at this time of year, when we experience our first day of 70 degree weather. It's an invigorating & shiny feeling, to know that spring is right around the corner.
